Job Description:

Our SaaS Client is looking for new leadership for North America.  This role is going to be important in growing their enterprise sales segment.  They need to know how to manage teams in a startup environment, ideally at a tech company (SaaS specifically).  This person should have managed people in the past – someone super senior isn’t necessary.  They’ll be managing a team of 7 people (3 marketing, 3 sales related – pre-sales, account manager, sales rep, and 1 developer community manager); someone who is managing a small team now but ready to take the next big step would be great.  They’ll be responsible for the P&L for North America.   Their background should be a combination of sales, management, and ideally, working with international teams.

They definitely need someone who can close deals, empower sales team, etc. They’ll report directly to the CEO.  They’ll be driving growth strategy.

The 3 key needs for this role are:

  1. Management experience (leading a team of 2-3 people now, ready to take on more)
  2. Phenomenal communication skills – should have experience communicating with international teams or have an international background. (Speaking a 2nd language is a plus.)
  3. Sales experience – they will be helping to negotiate large deals, overseeing sales team, sales strategy, etc.

 

Their ideal candidate has an international background or has worked with international and offshore teams.  Their company culture is very diverse, with offices around the globe.  They need someone who can come in and not only compromise, but collaborate, with people of varying cultures.

 

Key differentiators: they have an excellent enterprise product. They’re a very tech-driven company – most email marketing platforms play to marketers, but this platform is a developer’s playground.  They are very focused on their developer community, API’s for integration, etc.

 

Travel: They will travel to France about 3-4 times a year.

Responsibilities:

What You Will Be Doing – You Will:

  • Drive the strategy and business model
  • Help mold the corporate culture to be target-oriented and performance driven
  • Manage budget, forecasting, and revenue goals
  • Oversee talent, including organizational structure and incentive plans
  • Be responsible for P&L
  • Analyze customer data and trends to develop unique value propositions
  • Develop brand and PR strategy
Desired Skills:

You Will Need:

  • Successful sales experience
  • Experience working with international teams, speak a second language, or have a history of working with many cultures
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience running P&L and delivering on revenue quotas and growth targets (not required, but ideal)
  • Experience budgeting, forecasting, and setting revenue goals
  • Successful experience negotiating major contracts
  • Experience working on an email marketing platform or marketing automation platform is a big plus!
